Manitoba Music Educators’ Association
Virtual Tempo Conference
October 22, 2021

Last year, we were so pleased that you had the opportunity to attend the first virtual Tempo: Manitoba Music Conference on Friday, October 23rd, 2020 and that you were able to access the replays that were offered for one month after. Our virtual Conference offered a venue for you as music educators from across the province and beyond to meet, to share areas of common interest and to expand your own professional learning.

Entering into 2021 we were hopeful that we would be back to somewhat normal pre COVID Tempo Conference planning…that is not the case. For the second year we will not be able to offer an “in person” Conference but will be inviting you to attend our second virtual Tempo Conference on October 22nd, 2021.

As your Conference Chairperson, both my committee and I have been working diligently to put together a well “orchestrated” October 22nd, 2021 virtual Tempo. This Conference will provide 24 sessions with presenters of National and International calibre along with a Keynote Address. The Conference will provide access to 6 Streams of Programming: Band, Choral, Jazz, Elementary/Orff, Guitar/Strings and Perspectives.

For the second year we have invited Elisa Janson Jones, Senior Manager of Online Learning, Conn-Selmer Inc., to provide the technical expertise and the online music education experience. All registrants will have access to replays of each of the sessions, providing you with an opportunity to visit and revisit the presentations for one month after Conference.

Online Registration will be available starting on September 1st, 2021 with additional information emailed to all members in mid-August.

The MMEA wishes all of our members the best for an extremely well-deserved summer break. Take time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate.

Judy Giesbrecht
Tempo: Manitoba Music Conference Chairperson

We would like to thank our industry sponsors for their continued support
